Maybe you should flounder around with the Libertarian Party or some other turd party. Personally, I will stay and work to take the Republican party back. You may not have noticed but we unloaded some moderate debris this past election, and added some top-notch, genuine conservative new blood.
For serious conservatives, there is no choice but to try to take back the GOP. One thing Obama's election proved yet again is that money is indeed the "mother's milk of politics", and the GOP has a money-raising infrastructure that simply dwarfs whatever any turd party, existing or proposed, could ever hope to muster.
McCain got killed in the money war precisely because he was depending on rock-ribbed, grass roots moderates to enthusiastically donate to his campaign. How stupid was that? I suspect the real money didn't start coming in to the McCain campaign until he made the Palin selection.
In any event, turd party talk is naive on the face of it and it's embarrassing on this board.
No offense meant. I am as frustrated as you are, believe me.

No offense taken, LH.
This past election and its results have us all frustrated.
But talk of a third party is not embarassing on this board.
All political options need to be explored.
The two party system works when there are opposing viewpoints. But now, the GOP doesn’t seem to have the will to be different. Rhey are happy to go along and get along. Their present spinning on this campaign and the reasons they lost show they don’t really care about American exceptionalism, just the power they once had.
We had this problem with the GOP before. In 1992, 19% of the folks voted third party. Yes, it gave us Clinton, but more importantly it gave us the 1994 Congress, with Newt and his contract with America. It forced a rethinking of beliefs and priorities.
In spite of the Dole misstep in 1996, they became a msjority in both houses. And then we gave them the Presidency.
The rest,as they say, is history.
The GOP leaders were, and are, embarassed by the latest conservative star, Sarah Palin. And McCain, after Palin worked her heart out for him, could not even be bothered to speak in her defense post election, until the time it did not matter any longer.
This is the fate that awaits conservatives in the future reworking of the GOP. Send money, get out the vote, and shut up-so we don’t scare away the moderates. And don’t bother us with principles. Oh, and learn Spanish.
Well,that’s not a future I want.
