I love when Ann has a new book come out. I go to the most left wing bookstore and make the clerk find it.
Last time I was in Borders in Burlington Vt when her book came out. Of course her book was on the lower shelf, way in the back. Anyway, I asked the clerk if he had a copy. Suspecting I was a trouble maker, he made a diligent effort to find it. Upon failing, he asked his supervisor to help.
I stood there tapping my foot impatiently.
At last they came back with big self satisfied smiles and handed me a copy. Oh boy I said. I need two.
Bwaaahaaahaa! Great story. Burlington, VT is a liberal bastion, but I like going up there on occasion.
I live in MA, and I had the same experience when I tried to buy a copy of “Unfit for Duty”.
I love it!!!!
Even better, find out that they only have 1-2 and say you need FIVE copies right away..... then when they offer to order it, say “no, I wanted FIVE gift copies tonight but I guess I’ll just go order them on Amazon.....”
