I could see Obama sending our forces on a truly non-strategic and totally meaningless mission that would get thousands killed and the rest completely demoralised. Then, the longed for Democrat draft would be needed.

US troops better not set foot on African soil for a major military operation. Although, I'm sure we have special operators there.
The best thing the UN could do is hire contractors to clean it up. Executive Outcomes did a hell of a job in Sierre Leone.
