You’re never going to convince Americans to care about the sovereignty of foreign countries like Serbia as we do our own sovereignty. It’s not our job to defend the sovereignty of foreigners. Maybe you want us to obey UN resolutions and ask the UN’s permission before we do things like recognize the sovereignty of independent Kosovo, but too bad for you, we don’t have to listen to the UN.

You still don't get it, Joe. Forget Serbia for a second

Defense of sovereignty has nothing to do with "the UN". If anything, the damn UN has been an instrument to destroy sovereignty by poking their nose into every country's business and telling them what they can and can't do in their own countries.

Sovereignty is an international concept that is either respected and embraced, or rejected and ignored by a majority of countries. The concept of external sovereignty should not require a military defense to makes itself felt, because if it did, then smaller countries would have no right to exist when dealing with larger countries.

External "sovereignty" is a legal concept dating back to the Peace of Westphalia It defined a country's borders, and established that the government of that country was solely responsible for what took place on it's territory and for how it conducted itself both internally and externally. A reaffirmation of that concept of sovereignty took place in 1975 with the Helsinki Final Act., defining the borders of all the European countries.

But since that time, organizations which were designed to "promote peace" have been gradually dismantling the concept of national sovereignty everywhere, including here. (Even the word, "nationalist", has become a dirty word in spite of the fact most Freepers would be considered "nationalists" anywhere else.)

Certainly, the UN is one of those organizations that has traipsed all over sovereignty, and so is the EU. European countries have been gradually surrendering their sovereignty -- no passports needed in Schengen areas even though several borders are crossed, etc -- to an EU elite. But participation in these organizations has been voluntary -- for the countries, even if not for the individual citizens of these countries.

But the first act by the globalists to destroy the concept of "sovereignty" by military (involuntary) means, was the hijacking of NATO -- originally chartered purely (and righteously) for the purpose of a common defense (by treaty of countries) against the power of the Soviet Union -- but used to attack a country who had attacked no other NATO country -- the 1999 NATO Bombing of Yugoslavia.

Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Macedonia were not in jeopardy, they had already declared independence and been recognized long before 1999 -- and even if it wasn't done by the book, each had a right to secede according to the Yugoslav constitution. But Kosovo had no such right --it was an internal province, not a republic. The 1999 NATO Bombing was a deliberate military attack on the concept of sovereignty.

Again forget that this 1999 bombing violated international law for a second-- Clinton's actions also violated our own Constitution! In fact, 30 members of Congress actually sued Clinton for overstepping his Constitutional authority. And the very first thing that NATO did when it finished 78 days of bombing Serbia, was to plop down Camp Bondsteel on Serbia's territory without her permission, in violation of her sovereignty.

You can say, "Well, that was all Clinton -- but it wasn't. GWB put the final nail in the coffin of respect for national sovereignty on February 17, 2008, when he recognized Kosovo as "independent".

Serbia may have been the poster child for the globalists wish to dismantle sovereignty by any means, but the same US politicians who championed this attack on Yugoslavia in 1999, are also the ones who champion "keeping our US borders open", who champion "amnesty for illegals" -- all anti-sovereignty causes, but no one seems to see that.

The globalists here and in the EU, who have no respect for sovereignty, have been gathering steam for the last 25 years. This is what the NWO is all about, and it's here already.

Part of what makes America a sovereign nation is that we don’t have to ask anybody’s permission before we violate the sovereignty of others. We can do whatever we want and nobody can stop us. That’s sovereignty. Sovereignty is more than a concept. It’s a fact. You either have sovereignty or you don’t, and Serbia does not have sovereignty over Kosovo. That’s just a fact.

The Left and the UN think that if preface something with “Children’s” then anyone who disagrees will be branded an instant jerk.
It is a commie/socialist tool.

That's not "sovereignty". That's a bully. And sooner or later, bullies always get taken down as soon as a bigger bully shows up.

But that's not the case with us, TJ. No one has to "take our sovereignty". Our DC politicians are giving it away for free.

Swarms of bureaucrats and politicians violate the individual sovereignty of tens of millions of Americans every day by usurping their God-given rights to life, liberty, and property.

Any Government that is sufficiently powerful to violate the sovereignty of other Governments (and by extension, other Peoples) without just cause is sufficiently powerful to violate the individual and collective sovereignty of those whom i claims to govern.

Precisely, rabs. Once our government starts violating the rights of others for no reason, other than "because they can", you know that we are not far behind on their next list of victims.
