A 39-year-old Campbell man who allegedly shined a green laser at police helicopters and other aircraft repeatedly over the past three years has been arrested, the Santa Clara sheriff's office said Friday.
Michael Weeker was arrested at his home Monday night shortly after he shined a laser at a sheriff's helicopter, Sgt. Don Morrissey said. He was charged with 10 counts of shining a laser at an aircraft and faces a maximum of eight years in prison if convicted.
Pilots in the South Bay have reported periodic laser shinings since 2005, authorities said. Such shinings can cause temporary blindness and long-term eye damage.

The laser should be used on the guy pointing it. This is despicable, dangerous and the man should be held on felony assault charges.
Helicopter, maybe..
Commecial aircraft no..not so much...
Witnesses that saw the jerk trying to do this, yes
And I hope Laserboy gets a new daddy. Priceless!
The silly SOB should be dissolved via the military’s newest laser weapon systems. Give him a taste of the ultimate laser as he goes bye-bye. That scumbag doesn’t deserve to live.
“He was charged with 10 counts of shining a laser at an aircraft”
I’m sorry, but this made me laugh. Can there possibly be statutes specifying “shining a laser at an aircraft” as a crime? ‘Cause that’s really specific.
Now that's a laser!
I like an “eye for an eye” instant karma justice in this case. Would it be cruel to subject him to his green laser? I think not. If he’s guilty, he deserves to have done unto him what he has attempted to do unto others.
