Not a pitbull fan however, an untrained dog of any large breed is a danger to just about anyone. Especially a child.

Exactly! I’ve had my doberman (another “dangerous breed;” all the more terrifying b/c he is easily 20lbs over the normal weight.) for a couple of years before, my son was born. The dog was never raised around children before this; he also doesn’t like anyone not invited into the house. The biggest threat my, barely crawling, son faces.... being licked to death. It is how the dog is raised and treated. Being an “inside dog,” given lots of love, attention, and effectively disciplined, it was easy to socialize them. Now, my son is just someone else to sucker attention from.... but if you are a non-family memeber and try to come in the house without being let in.... ;) we’ll call it an error of judgement on your part.
