Boy, this has got to roil the enviro-nazis! Not only does it fly in the face of all the predictions of disappearing ice, but now it turns out that all the purported warming was the least of these whales’ problems. I thought warming was supposed to be the end of the world.
But wait, maybe the ice that trapped the whales actually IS some strange paradoxical result of the rampant AGW! How will Algore spin this?
I tried to post this, but wasn’t allowed, got this message:

"Narwahls......are renowned for their extraordinarily long tusk, which is actually a twisted incisor tooth that projects from the left side of its upper jaw and can be up to three meters (10 feet) long. Can't they just peck their way out? What's that tusk for, anyway? Fish-Ka-Bob?

Fish Ka-bob..... LOL
Another wet keyboard. I think I need to install a splash guard.

A few years back, a Russian ice breaker came to the rescue of a couple of whales in a similar predicament. Hopefully, these whales will be used for food, etc.

Gee! Why didn’t they send in the icebreakers to make a safe path for the whales?

Nature uses this to take care of the endangered polar bears.

Not sure if you wrote in jest, but there’s much truth in it.

It’s the tough love of the environmental movement.
when i was in CA, I had indoctrination showing me what the types of endangered desert tortoises, foxes and rats.
You were not to bother any under penalty.
the irony is that one day i saw an endangered desert fox which caught an endangered rat and i wondered what should which endangered animal to save, the hungry fox or the soon to be eaten rat.
nature takes care of things, wihtout our interference

All those narwahls are wishing for some global warming right about now.....
Someone should do a cartoon of narwahls about to be slaughtered on the ice, crying “Al Gore, how about some of that global warming?”

Reminds me of a story I read a day or so ago about some thought-to-be-extinct tiny primate in someplace like New Zealand. So they tagged some to study and the article goes on a bit and then “the female was eaten by a hawk”. LOL
