“Because a deal is a deal.”

Between the parties. This is the nub of the problem. UAW will not give in. GM cannot survive if UAW insists on “a deal is a deal.” It cannot even make it out of bankruptcy. I don’t know where you have been but that is the whole problem in a nutshell. Unless “a deal” is not “a deal” GM is toast. There is not enough money on the planet to save GM unless the UAW breaks the deal.

Your concept of a deal is a deal is why the shorts are making a killing in GM.

I’m talking about retirees not current contracts. It would be immoral to put an 80 year old retiree out on the street when their over funded pension plans will support them till they die. And if you can’t have a civil discussion go troll somewhere else.
