State Senator Dianne Wilkerson, facing open scorn from her colleagues and the possibility of a humiliating vote to strip her of her seat, resigned yesterday from the office she held for nearly 16 years, leaving behind a career punctuated by last month's arrest on federal bribery charges.
Wilkerson submitted a two-sentence letter of resignation to the Senate president, handwritten in cursive on a blank sheet of paper, at 9:45 a.m.

Until this year, the last time a state senator resigned as a result of a criminal investigation was 1977, when Ronald MacKenzie, a Republican from Burlington, gave up his seat because of a bribery scandal.
Since the report failed to mention it, I assume the perp is a DEMOCRAT. I couldn’t help but notice that, while also omitting party affiliation of the other DEMOCRAT who also resigned (last week) following criminal indictent, they DID manage o identify as a Republican the last congressman to resign — this in 1977. Great reporting, that.
She got booted from her Catholic Church after 2004 Election... (Booted from her position as Children's Choir Director since she was a source of scandal for her support of abortion...) This was Saint Augustine in I believe Landover, Massachusetts...
Maybe Barbara looks up to politicians such as Wilkerson -- she might be Barbara's heroine...
She claims to be Catholic and supports abortion (like US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi), so maybe she has some wisdom to convey (barf alert!):
