Caught in the middle of a who-blinks-first standoff are legions of manufacturing firms and auto dealers—and millions of Americans' jobs—after Senate Democrats canceled a showdown vote that had been expected Thursday. Demorats can’t let down their big money union campaign contributors by allowing the Auto Mfr’s to go bankrupt.
Because then the automakers can throw out the union contracts and FORCE them to make concessions. If the government bails them out, the union workers keep their contracts and maintain their shakedown of the auto industry.
Note where the bailout money seems to be going. Unions, banking and finance, and insurance companies are among their biggest campaign contributors.
Good. Less money for the worthless, anti-conservative UAW. Hopefully the Big 3 can either go under or declare bankruptcy and put an end to the UAW once and for all.
Time to terminate the disgusting, corrupt UAW.
There are PLENTY of great cars being built in the USA by non-UAW companies.
Add in the legislation that Congress has passed keep the environmental whacko's happy and this is what you get.
Now the auto industry, their employees and all the Americans that buy American cars have to pay the piper.
The American people have allowed the Government to cripple them.
I love my KIA. It's made in West Point, Georgia. It seems the Koreans know how to run a car company better than the Big 3.

Wrong !!! This mess cannot be blamed on the American people. Politicians lie in order to get elected and unions become power hungry thugs. Which is why the Democrats and the unions want to get rid of the secret ballot.
And before you go off the deep end, yes, my family belongs/belonged to unions.
We are also Conservative, Christian Republicans.
They do lie, CONSTANTLY! Yet we continue to let them get away with it.
We should be throwing these bums out left and right! The American people are more concerned with American Idol their favorite sports teams, movies, and overall entertainment than they are the country.
