You know what they say: One man’s “quiet arrest” is another man’s police brutality...
They were in a hurry to get their donuts.

Ed McMahon?
I was wondering what he’s been up to since Carson went off the air.
Right here in North Carolina, too.
I am so proud.
If they’re trying to arrest a guy DURING the funeral, when he did say he’d go in after it was over, I think it’s perfectly fine if the guy goes nuts.
"I said PUT YOUR HANDS IN THE AIR! < shock! zap! stun! >"
Barney Fife dropped his gun? ROFL!!!!
A lot of wacked out policemen in this country/world.
“One deputy’s gun fell out of its holster.”
BARNEY!!!
Well at least they didn’t turn it into a high speed herse chase or para military raid on a funerl home. Can we give ‘em that?
They certainly have a way with names in that family ... Taffy Gause, Gladwyn Taft Russ? And to top it all off, they got Ed McMahon up in there, lol.
“There he is, Barney. Taze ‘em.”
It’s a good thing the police did not accidently taser the dead man. You just never know what would have happened.
[Andy's hand extended]: "Gimme the bullet, Barn."
I guess they couldn't figure out what 'after' meant?!
some cops need a lesson in etiquette...hmmm Dear Abby..is it ok to disrupt a funeral or..
Some thoughts:
“Barricaded” can conjure up the image of a bug eyed loony hiding behind sandbags and boarded up windows, sometimes it is simply LEO speak for “they wouldn’t answer the door when we knocked”.
Timing: Don’t know the LEO motivation for doing this when they did. Maybe they thought it was the only time when they knew the when and where on this guy, BUT it was still a horrible idea to do it the way they did. Funerals are highly emotionally charged settings, grabbing someone at a funeral could have led to a violent response by the mourners.
UC officers: Undercover LEOs frequently dress like street thugs to blend in, it can be easy to mistake them for common criminals
These guys messed up big time. What they did was stupid and they endangered the lives of themselves, the suspect and everyone else at the service. This could have turned out a lot worse if someone thought they were robbers/gangbangers/murderers and picked up the dropped sidearm (time for weapons retention 101) and engaged the officers.
Don’t try this at home kids.
