Democrat Ethan Berkowitz conceded defeat in his challenge to Congressman Don Young on Tuesday.
Trailing by more than 16,000 votes, Berkowitz called Young to congratulate him on his victory.
But Berkowitz hinted strongly that he may run again in the future if Young doesn't do well in the Democrat-controlled Congress.
"I've got to digest all the numbers and see what happened, but there is a whole host of reasons it happened," Berkowitz said. "I'm proud of the fact that we have, at this point, more votes than any other Democrat running in history except for Mark Begich.
"I'm proud of the fact that we ran a campaign that is based on issues, based on values, based on direction, and I think that helped elevate the quality and tone of this race, and I am proud of that."
Berkowitz says his immediate plans include working on renewable energy projects.
Man, it only dropped into the 20s here (Philly area) yesterday and I have my woodstove all fired up and blasting the good heat.
There are readings in the -25 to -30 range farther up the valleys here, but it is -15 here. Should warm up a little tomorrow.
