The Conservative movement of Reagan was formed from a coalition of religious, defense, and fiscal conservatives. Some religious conservatives (a la Huckabee, Catholic Social Justice types) have abandoned the fiscal/limited govn’t movement and adopted a big govn’t, philosophy - thanks GWB. This is an offshoot of the Compassionate Converservative BS. We need to reestablish the three pillars of the Cons Movement - religion/values, Defense, Fiscal/limited Govn’t. If you can’t support all three, you don’t belong in the Conserv Movement.

1. A strong defense does not equate to military interventionism.

2. The core problem with the Republican Party is its habitual disenfranchisement of social conservatives.

3. What exactly is a term like “limited government” supposed to mean? It is relative to the point of being meaningless.
