BNP membership list leaked onto internet (British National Party)
The Telegraph (U.K.) ^ | November 18, 2008 | James Kirkup and Christopher Hope

Posted on 11/18/2008 1:56:10 PM PST by Stoat

A police officer, more than a dozen soldiers, a vicar and a Chelsea pensioner have been named on a list purporting to comprise the entire membership of the British National Party.

They were exposed after bloggers posted around 10,000 names, together with home addresses, telephone numbers, jobs and even hobbies on the internet.

The leak led some BNP members to fear that they may lose their jobs or face other reprisals

At least one serving police officer is on the membership list, along with several retired officers.

The Association of Chief Police Officers has banned police officers and staff from belonging to the BNP. Last month a Greater Manchester police officer was forced to resign after he was seen wearing a BNP badge at a football match

(edit)

The publication of the list sparked panic among BNP members using anonymous internet chatrooms. Many expressed fears that they may lose their jobs or face disciplinary action as a result.

One user of a right-wing site wrote: "I'm also on the list, what the ---- is going on? I could lose my job."

Another said: "The reccession means many of us could lose our jobs, add this info to it and its a dead cert."

The publication of the membership list sparked jubilation among anti-racist groups and other critics of the BNP, which wants an immediate halt to immigration and the "voluntary resettlement" of existing immigrants.

The BNP leadership on Tuesday confirmed that the list was a broadly accurate picture of the party membership list for 2007. The party and said it had contacted police about the publication.

Thanks for the update and what is more valuable the information- which each person here can take as they wish.

You're quite welcome and I'm delighted that you've found it to be worthwhile  :-)

The BNP has publicly gone to bat for Indians.

Essential information that the UK media doesn't seem terribly interested in reporting.....

As an curious fact by statistics in Canada, which are quickly submerged. one can be jumped on just for quoting them.

Sounds similar to the situation here in the USA where it's common to be called a 'racist' if you dare to quote official Department of Justice figures pertaining to crime and race....because the official figures typically do not bathe certain minority groups in an extremely flattering light, to put it mildly.

For you guys the tie between race and national identity is much stronger...

I am citizen of the United States, which was indeeed founded by Englishmen.

If standing up for America or England or India for that matter is considered racist, then so be it... let's get on with the war.

makes sense..we have been so PCized in the US that if not having this explained it may seem racist, but with the other orgs listed then I would say “NO” they’re not racist, unless they 1)advocated violence or discrimination against another race in government affiars, or 2)made hateful statments toward another race, and excluded their members from interacting with others.

I for one think race matters not one bit in life becuase we are all brothers and sisters as seen in light of the garden and the Cross!

Except the Indian version one state that was controlled by them it was ENCOURAGED TO KILL CHRISTIANS: I don’t know about the BNP (but if not racist), then I doubt they would call for the murder of Muslims and Hindu.

Thanks for the reply, my quotation needs refining.

"They're not too keen on non-whites."

I would concede this, if qualified. Those that behave in an unsociable manner, those that wantonly commit crime, who literally hate the very country that they batten off. I do not suppose the BNP is that enthusiatic in those cases. Just the same as the Victorian Londoner of means, feared and dreaded the people of the East-End slums. Mostly white, many Jewish and also the Irish.

A common source of dismay, is when the balance in numbers of indigenous Englishmen is threatened. I would say from my own experience and so glad to live over 400 miles from "The most diverse and multi-culturally successful city in North America" (Toronto Star, vis Toronto). Parts of it are known as a living misery .

Multi-culture seems not so bad- in small doses,

the media have been pathetic in America and England

I get shivers up my leg Matthews or he says it is their job to get obama to where he is

ARF

Agreed, and over the course of the next four years they will NEVER admit their biases and will insist than any problem that comes up is entirely "Bush's Fault".

Fortunately we have the internet, Free Republic and talk radio to get the truth out but it would be nice to be able to turn on the TV and believe even ten percent of what they say....can't do even that these days.

"sigh"

Agreed...I only wish that when people move into a new country they would assimilate, respect and uphold the culture there and not Balkanize the country by separating everything into racial divisions.

If I were to move to Japan, I would do my utmost to learn the language and the culture and to become as "Japanese" as is possible.  I wouldn't be getting together with other white Yanks like me and demanding special rights and privileges and trying to change traditions and the culture there.

There would probably be little need for the BNP if everyone respected Britain's traditions and culture.  But since they don't and in fact so very many are actively antagonistic toward the fine country that allowed them in and gave them an opportunity to escape the third-world hellholes they came from and start a new life, so comes the need for the BNP...to try to protect and conserve the culture and traditions.

Although I hate citing Wikipedia as the definitive source on anything, this makes sense to me:

Euroscepticism - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Euroscepticism has become a general term for opposition to the process of further European integration.

(edit)

Euroscepticism in the United Kingdom (UK) is a very controversial issue and has been a significant element in British politics since the inception of the European Economic Community (EEC), the predecessor to the European Union (EU). Eurosceptic views have not diminished following UK membership of the Union.

However, their nature and bases have tended to change over the years

**************************************************

I'm not aware of a "Eurosceptic British Party" per se, but as an ideological plank I know that the BNP is Eurosceptic and I believe that the Conservatives are as well, and perhaps other UK parties.

I agree with your post on all counts.  Multiculturalism is one of those things that sounds nice and looks good on paper and perhaps in small doses but when unleashed it is like a cancer, quickly metastasizing and destroying the host organism, in this case whatever the city or country that enacts the cancerous policies.

Like so many Utopian ideas of the Left, it fails to take into account basic human nature, particularly among those who don't have a strong allegiance to the host country.

You would think someone could come up with a better term.

Europposition. Europeon Opposition.

As in declaring to the French and the Germans and the British Labor Party .... "We're Europposition!!"

Agreed...the term was probably produced after multiple massive conferences in Brussels at the cost of  millions of pounds  :-)

The BNP is an outgrowth/amalgamation of several extreme “right wing” groups, including the National Front and the British Fascist party. As with all political parties, there is probably quite a range of opinions, so it would be wrong to say that all their members are racists and fascists, but some certainly are.

A police officer wearing a BNP badge, or indeed anything proclaiming allegiance to any political organisation, should indeed be disciplined. On duty, policemen are and should be seen to be neutral, or rather, loyal only to the law itself. OK the uniform isn’t a muzzle, but neither is it a loudspeaker.

There is no equivalent of the BNP in the US. Although many freepers would have sympathy with their stances on social issues, like immigration for example, their economic stances would be anathema to most. They believe in protectionism and re-nationialisation (State Ownership) of service providers like health, rail transport, utilities like gas, electricity etc.

Far too many people here are just thinking that the BNP is simply a party of the right. I’m very worried at some of the posts here, from what I had considered to be intelligent Conservative minded thinkers such as myself.

I will have a new found wariness of seemingly supportive people here, because it seems you never know who has a far-fight fascist agenda.

Having recently engaged Sir Francis Dashwood on another thread about the BNP I have been left more than concerned about the integrity of FR. The man is a total loon!

Any views/opinions bout this mess?!!!

I apologize for not making that more clear on my many supportive posts here....I'll support them until I see evidence that this name-calling campaign against them has any merit, which I haven't seen any evidence of to date.  I haven't seen anything objectionable in terms of policy positions at their website, in fact it all seems quite reasonable, and I have a lot of trouble believing that so very many Britons are 'Nazis' and 'Fascists' as some say.  Also, whenever the entire media complex aligns itself against a legal entity, I tend to become sympathetic toward that legal entity.

It's all a rather academic matter for me, however, in that I'm a Yank and can't vote in the UK.
