Russia damn near pulled off an Anschluss in the Ukraine. Russia certainly got their Sudetenland in Georgia.
Now Russia is pushing up against Poland.

That region is definately a future area of concern if not now. I can see why Poland joined the EU in hopes that the EU would protect it if tempers flared up again. And I can see why Poland is now wanting missles since they don’t trust the EU for their protction But the rest of Eastern Europe, they need to do their own thing and forget the EU who is not going to be there for them again. And Putin like other leaders in hotspots is not mad, very intelligent, is well liked in his country and plays up the charisma and sex symbol thing as much as he can and is acting in a very traditional Russian way when it comes to word affairs but he is doing so in more planned methodical slow dilerberate way. Putin is a force to be concerned about. He has to be dealt with up front in an open way and he has to be treated as an equal not as some country we can just run over and invade and take out the infrastructure and take out the leader like we did in Iraq (I mean the method used—not the merit of why we went). Kosovo really ticked Russia off too and if Nato leaves, there goes Kosovo and from what I can tell from what I read all of the stan countries (more than just Afghanisan and Pakistan) are not that stable or happy. What’s to stop Putin from flexing muscle in the area to calm down that region too? Putin is different and more modern in many ways than past Russian leaders and certainly more intelligent and up on the USA’s current events and culture if you look at his remarks in the election (pre and post). He is certainly a force to be acknowledge and watched. I fear for Eastern Europe.
