This might sound unpopular but we need less partisan bickering and more solutions. There is nothing wrong with principled opposition and standing up for conservative values but being the minority party means the other side sets the agenda. Look for ways to work w/the new administration to solve problems, protect security, support troops etc. Stand in opposition to expanding spending, expose the BS and propose better ideas for the American public to choose from the next go around.

...and lose. The Dems tried this in 2002 and got hammered in the elections. When they changed their game to oppose everything Bush did, they started winning again.

It doesn't sound "unpopular," just wrong. McCain preached bipartisanship at all costs and got creamed. People vote for one side because they want to defeat the other, not because they want to work together.
Modern Democrats are not interested in bipartisanship. They're interested in Republican cover for bad legislation--see the bailouts.

Garbage!
I'll make this easy for you.
Name me 5 issues where you think we as conservatives can find common ground with the Obamanation's liberal positions on the issues without compromising core conservative values?
Shoot, I'll lower the bar even further, NAME ONE!
You don't win by compromising your values and you do not engender trust in those your represent by doing this either!

"There is nothing wrong with principled opposition and standing up for conservative values " That's all you need to say. The rest is blather.
It's obvious Obama and the Democrats will do WHATEVER THEY WANT TO DO. Trying to 'help' Obama is a pathetic figleaf for the bipartisan BS of old, where we help the Democrats pass their agenda. Phooey to that. No good will come of it at all.
I think we need to be MORE OPPOSITIONAL THAN EVER BEFORE. Opposing the Dems is exactly what is needed, so the American people listen to both sides before the Democrat steamroll over on their bad policies.

The Dem’s care nothing about the Republicans and the values we represent. Sorry, call it what you want, but I will play hardball from here on out. Between some of the proposed policies that will be introduced, the lies I have heard throughout the campaign, the officials being employed within this administration, not to mention the history of people surrounded within this administration tells me that they have no interest in reaching across the board. It’s going to be their way or the highway. Honestly, if someone wants me to go along with this because it’s the respectful thing to do, well, they can take that roll. But, I certainly will not. This election symbolizes a major change in our country and it is a change towards a liberal & socialist direction. I plan to complain to every gov’t agency & newspaper and have my voice heard, that not everyone agrees with these policies.
This was a photo op and nothing more.

Too bad it as nothing to do with the squalid reality being described here. McCain is being used as a styrofoam stage prop for a quick news story. That's all.
