Democrats became marxist-socialists so the stupid party filled the void by morphing into democrats.
“both romney and huckabee prevented the real conservative, fred, from having a chance”
I’m sure that a Fred Thompson/Sarah Palin ticket would’ve given us more than enough reason to keep that Kenyan-born muslim out of the White House.
Let’s be honest, the reason we didn’t have Fred on the ticket was due to Fred.
The reason we didn’t have Mitt on the ticket was due to Huckabee publicly questioning Romney’s religious beliefs.
Huck didn’t kill Fred, he killed Mitt. Huck may be bitter about both men, but in the end, we were down to three choice, all of which stunk in one way or another...and none of which could have beaten the metrosexual Obama.
both romney and huckabee prevented the real conservative, fred, from having a chance.

Fred, who was my #1 choice, just didn’t seem to have the “fire in the belly”. He stayed out of the race for so long, it passed him by.

You forgot “illegal alien”
Seems to me that the reason we wound up with John McCain as the candidate is not so much due to Huck, or Fred, or Mitt, or Crist but due to the people who voted in the primaries.
The major issue during the primaries was the war and the war-hero seemed the best choice. The major issue during the actual election was the economy and the war-hero was never able to articulate a coherent economic message.
maybe because he realized that before he could run against michael moore and obama, which is fun, he also had to beat other republicans.
One word for Huckabee- Loser.
One word for Huckabee- Loser.

I think the term applies to all of the Republican candidates and especially to McCain, the “designated loser”.
Huckabee was the last one out. Had Romney sent his delegates Huckabee's way, on the other hand, we could have forced a floor fight at the convention. (Assuming Huckabee remained in the race and continued getting delegates at the rate he was earning them.
BINGO
Truth? Truism, you mean. The majority of Huckabee voters questioned in exit polling expressed McCain as their second choice. If he had not been in the race, McCain won even more quickly. As much as I wanted Fred, he allowed himself to be labelled and cast aside.
More whining from Huckabee.
I hope someday a Mormon moves next door to him.
Mitt Romney...””anything but conservative until he changed the light bulbs in his chandelier in time to run for president.” He notes that Romney declined to make a phone call of congratulations after Huckabee beat the oddsmakers to win the Iowa caucuses, “which we took as a sign of total disrespect.” He mocks Romney for suggesting, during one debate, more investment in high-yield stocks as a solution to economic woes. “Let them eat stocks!” Huckabee jokes.
His treatment of former candidate Fred Thompson, a rival who helped sink Huckabee’s upstart ambitions in South Carolina, is somewhat more favorable, if only because it is less personal. Huckabee maintains that Thompson’s biggest mistake was strategic: he didn’t understand the need to expand the Republican Party beyond its base. “Fred Thompson never did grasp the dynamics of the race or the country, and his amazingly lackluster campaign reflected just how disconnected he was with the people, despite the anticipation and expectation that greeted his candidacy,” Huckabee writes.
I still think he is Jim Nabors in drag.
