I think she’s nuts to give up a power base in the Senate for a thankless, relatively short-term job. An SoS who’s stayed 4 years has stayed longer than average.

Doesn’t Hussein have the power to fire her if he feels like it?

The reason HIllary is considering it is she has no power base in the senate.

She’s a junior senator with no committee memberships and waiting 15 years for her to be in her 70’s before she gets one may not appeal to her. She wanted to chair a special subcommittee on healthcare and Kennedy shot her down. People talk about how she has a lifetime senate seat but who says she likes the senate? Why did she run anyway? As a steppingstone for President in 2008 and that plan has back-fired. SoS may not be a bad fallback option for her. At least she gets to be in charge of a big part of the government and not 1 of 100 blovating senators.

There’s no future for her as senate majority leader either. Most of the democrats supported Obama and there are lots more senior members ahead of her.
