Cross burnings. Schoolchildren chanting "Assassinate Obama." Black figures hung from nooses. Racial epithets scrawled on homes and cars.
Incidents around the country referring to President-elect Barack Obama are dampening the postelection glow of racial progress and harmony, highlighting the stubborn racism that remains in America.
From California to Maine, police have documented a range of alleged crimes, from vandalism and vague threats to at least one physical attack. Insults and taunts have been delivered by adults, college students and second-graders.
There have been "hundreds" of incidents since the election, many more than usual, said Mark Potok, director of the Intelligence Project at the Southern Poverty Law Center, which monitors hate crimes.
One was in Snellville, Ga., where Denene Millner said a boy on the school bus told her 9-year-old daughter the day after the election: "I hope Obama gets assassinated." That night, someone trashed her sister-in-law's front lawn, mangled the Obama lawn signs, and left two pizza boxes filled with human feces outside the front door, Millner said.
She described her emotions as a combination of anger and fear.

The racial stuff is pathetic. I just don’t like him because he is a Marxist, isn’t all that smart, is arrogant, has an annoying cadence in his speaking, has terrorist and Marxist friends. Plus, for a bonus, he want’s to redistribute wealth-— but, that is covered under, he is a Marxist.

You know, its a funny thing, but we've had bad presidents before, and good presidents before, and we've survived them all. Perhaps we ought to let the new president get inaugurated before we all jump off a cliff.
I intentionally did not let my kids get raised in a third-world s**thole, and I certainly did not come back to the states to do to have this country turn into one.

Jesse Washington wrote this for AP, yesterday.
Some of the incidents he cites, were taken from the recent Newsweek article.
Apparently, he has a history of making controversial public claims that get others riled up.
Which at some point, caused him to be beaten by an associate of Puff P.Diddy Daddy or whatever the heck his name is.
Washington was the entertainment editor for AP,
editor of a hip hop magazine,
author of “ Black Will Shoot” and two coffee table books about African Americans
and founded the street basketball magazine, Bounce.
I’m sensing a pattern in his published pieces...

For the guns and ammo business that is. From what I heard today the gun show in Houston was packed and vendors that usually have stacks of stuff were running out quickly.
The two incidents which spurred the march were said to be a.) a lynching rope hanging from a tree on campus and b.) a burning pyre of Obama campaign signs.
The university administration investigated, however, and found that the "lynching rope" was the rotted remains of a swing and the "burning pyre" was cardboard boxes.

I would think that Pres. Bush would call it a slow day if he wasn't hanged/burned/mutilated in effigy somewhere.

Exactly. Most “hate crimes” are blacks attacking whites rather than the other way around.
But why are any of us surprised....the Southern “Poverty” Law Center has an agenda, and it’s an agenda that keeps the money rolling in from liberals and their special interest groups.
