It's kind of a sinking feeling when they don't tell you to "take off your tinfoil hat," but instead get kinda serious and want to discuss the matter at hand.

But then, like you said, it IS good to be scared and on your toes. And I've been feeling a lot more self-assured and reliant lately, and have taken pride in it.

Exactly. I was taken aback when he didn’t admonish me right away. I think he refrained from bringing it up so I didn’t freak out lol.
I did notice his behavior of late though. He did sell a few prized possessions, bought some ammo and another pistol and has been cleaning rifles.
Now after talking about and making some plans, I feel better.
