The recession deepens, unemployment explodes, and the Republicans take over one or both chambers of Congress in November 2010. During this point, Obama's favorability ratings plummet -- which, in reality, seems almost a metaphysical certitude because it's unlikely he could possibly live up to the current lofty expectations for him.

Now way, Noel. It is a nice little exercise in politofantasy but it isn’t going to happen. Chairwoman Meow is done as far as any presidential ambitions are concerned.
If Obama has half of us living in Gulags, there is 35% unemployment and gasoline is 7/gallon; Hillary still dare not run against Obama.
I hope she does run against him, that would be great. It is win-win for us regardless of the outcome. If she unseats him it would be wonderful because she would be the new devil to the left. The attacks on Hillary would make the attacks on Sarah Palin look like playful banter. I don’t think Noel thought this through. :)

"name the last great liberal leader" BHO was the last great liberal leader. None of the others remained great once they were exposed.

There is one other scenario. Hillary accepts the position of Secretary of State, resigns from the senate. After a relatively short period of time (6 months to 18 months) has a major falling out with Obama and resigns (or is fired) as Secretary of State.
Without the senate seat or cabinet position she is neutralized and unable to mount a successful campaign for President.
Obmama’s crew have purged the party of the Clintons and moved it farther left.

There is NO need to even mention race. However, this information is directly from the National Black Republican Association website:
“Democrat-controlled cities that are burdened by socialism and mired in poverty:
Detroit, MI (1st on the poverty rate list); no Republican mayor since 1961
Buffalo, NY (2nd on the poverty rate list); no Republican mayor since 1954
Cincinnati, OH (3rd on the poverty rate list); no Republican mayor since 1984
Cleveland, OH (4th on the poverty rate list); no Republican mayor since 1989
Miami, FL (5th on the poverty rate list); no Republican mayor ever
St. Louis, MO (6th on the poverty rate list); no Republican mayor since 1949
El Paso, TX (7th on the poverty rate list); no Republican mayor ever
Milwaukee, WI (8th on the poverty rate list); no Republican mayor since 1908
Philadelphia, PA (9th on the poverty rate list); no Republican mayor since 1952
Newark, NJ (10th on the poverty rate list); no Republican mayor since 1907

....it’s not racist to tell the truth....cities where African Americans have legally siezed power have failed.

I really didn’t think about it that way. I do think it will be take the republicans another 8 years before they can win the presidency, and they are going to have to work hard making inroads. I would say with asian is their best bet.
I also think Obama is a person who likes to run for office opposed to actually working.

I think that is the scenario that Obama has in mind for Hillary. I think that Obama wants Hillary as SOS so that when something goes wrong with his foreign policy, he can blame and fire her and end her political career. The question is whether Hillary will fall for Obama's trick.
To: BillyM
If Obama is foolish enough to put the Cleopatra of modern American politics into the position of fourth in line to the Presidential succession, there will be no need for an election to put her in power.
Only Obama, Biden, Pelosi and a handfull of secret service men would be in the way of the most ambitious political operative of modern times and her life-long goal.

I don't think she is going to fall for that. Her office said Friday, you would have to ask Obama as to the position of Secretary of State. Obama’s office was asked and they had no comment. Remember last time when the press ran that lie for 4 months and then she said she wasn't even vetted at the end.

You may be right, but postings on FR and elsewhere suggest that her career options in the senate are limited. Majority leader seems out of the question for a while.

Where is the city of Atlanta on this list? Without the outlying area it would be skid row.

It will never happen. Obama would have to decide not to run in 2012 for Hillary even to consider running. If the country is in that bad a shape after 4 years of Democratic rule Hillary will realize she can’t win. She would never challenge Obama in the primaries in 2012.
