I just noticed your tagline. We also homeschool. :-) I believe that all the bail outs as currently proposed by our legislators will fail. The problem is that far TOO MANY Americans now have an awareness of those on top who facilitated the financial ruination of people that they were charged with protecting. This effect can't be measured, but I get the general impression that it is far reaching and will be very difficult to repair. This is because it's not a "technical" issue. It's like adopting an abused dog. Have you ever tried to "unbeat" a dog?! It doesn't work that way! You have to truly put time and effort into bringing the poor creature around back to a correct perspective (from a dog's viewpoint :-). Too many people are standing where you and I are at and viewing those who created this mess with EXTREME DISTRUST. Too many now have ZERO CONFIDENCE in those who were charged with making sure that this very situation we're in now didn't happen, and we're aware of how and why it happened.

Let the fools throw money at the problem! It will come to nothing. In fact, that's not entirely true. It will come to something, but will be the opposite effect of what they're trying to achieve! This has been the effect all along! They keep doing the exact opposite of what they should do, and people react predictably. This is still happening and will continue to happen. It's "cause and effect". Nothing more. This is what we get for having too many Democrats in power, and yet people still cling to "Change We Can Believe In". :-) They ought to be on their faces begging mercy from God for what's coming, and "individuals" are, but the "nation" is not.

The government will probably bail out the U.S. auto industry, for all the good it does. If they do, the underlying situation will remain the same. They've done nothing to affect it. So given this, the U.S. auto industry simply becomes a money pit. It's a little hard to hide that sort of thing for long. Not only that, but have you asked anybody lately what the real value of our dollar is? Economists will tip their heads back, and look down their nose as they explain that it's a complex question to answer! Then they'll start spewing nebulous information at you and NEVER really answer you. It's easier for me to walk out my back door to my chicken lot, and pick up two layers (one under each arm) and barter with a neighbor or friend and never discuss U.S. currency! I've had a theory for a couple of years now that when the American people REALIZE that their currency is effectively WORTHLESS that they can become a catalyst for change. But not until then. But as for the government bailing out the U.S. auto industry.... they'll dump money into it, and the auto industry will absorb it, and their sales rates will stay the same. What's our idiotic government going to do? Are they doing to do this with EVERY major industry that we have?

I think if the government continues in this disturbing, and STUPID pattern that they'll drag us directly into a depression, followed by hyperinflation, followed by a complete monetary systems collapse. We're observing this now. It just moves too slowly for most people to realize.
