I fail to see why Joe and Jane Sixpacks, who make 15 dollars an hour, should be made to pay the wages of a UAW worker who makes 72.

Where did you get that figure? (72)

That's absurd.

**Where did you get that figure? (72)

That’s absurd.**

Came from the UAW ... total cost to employ 1 person for 1 hour... paycheck, health ins etc, retirement, compliance with federal and state regulations.

This has been explained on at least 6 radio shows.

Looks like it was $73 per hour in 2007

The United Auto Workers will enjoy at least a $10-an-hour wage advantage to start over their counterparts in the Canadian Auto Workers after they approve a contract with General Motors, industry analyst Dennis DesRosiers says.

The new contract will allow GM to achieve "huge cost reductions" from the $73-per-hour it currently spends on wages, benefits, pensions and retiree health benefits, DesRosiers said.

“Where did you get that figure? (72)”

That’s the published average hourly wage including the benifits, which is just about half of the wage cost of the car companies in the siuth.
