If so-called RINOs are “kicked out” of the party...wait, you can’t kick anyone out of a party, people can register for any party they please, and vote however they please. They can also register to run as candidates in whichever party they please. The entire premise of removing those who are not conservative enough is ludicrous. We don’t run parties in America they way totalitarian systems run parties. In America we have freedom of association.

But let’s assume we could purge moderates or RINOs from the party. We now have a party that consists of perhaps 30% of the electorate. Which means we need converts in order to have any political power or to elect national candidates. Where do we search for converts? Among flaming liberals? Not likely. Among independents? Yes, we can add maybe 10% additional to the electorate there. Among RINOs? That’s our most likely source of additional votes, among those we just kicked out. I mean, they are closer to us than the rest of the electorate, and so should be the easiest to bring around. Hmmmm.

You get it. This is not emotion—it’s realism. We absolutely need every RINO we can get. I’m willing to use them to get what I want.

I don’t want to kick them all out of the party. I welcome their support. However, I do not want them in the leadership of the party where they can set the agenda.

You should know better than that!  Being logical and making sense will get you nowhere in life or on this thread. ;-)   Everyone else knows that the way to build a lager consensus is to insult possible converts and throw out 40 year card carrying members of the GOP.  The only reason this hasn't worked in the past is simply that we haven't had the right fascists in charge of the party. Don't you know this?  

BTW there is no such thing as a RINO.  The Republican party is is not an ideology. It is an organization one joins, therefore if you join it you are a Republican, period.  You may be a liberal Republican, a moderate Republican or a conservative Republican.  You may be a populous Republican like Palin or you may be a libertarian Republican like Paul.  Or you may be a fascist Republican that banishes thought that doesn't conform with the narrow minded.

BTW: Here's Pawlenty's profile on the left and Palin's on the right.  One of these is called a RINO in here.  Excuse me while I leave for a few minutes to laugh my butt off.
