I would give a look to Pawlenty. Otherwise the Republican Party will be restricted to the Old Confederacy and some of the Western states. Mitch Daniels is also well-positioned.

Nonsense.

Who leads our party should be based on a tough, no-nonsense record of true leadership and unyielding, unapologetic support and defense of CONSERVATIVE principles...NOT the region they come from.

NO MORE DEM-LITE RINOS!!!

Pawlenty is a too much get along kind of guy. Pawlenty could not deliver MN for McCain. Plus, the fact that Pawlenty never got above 46% of the popular vote in his runs for Governor. Its doubtful he can carry his own state.

Mitch Daniels might have potential. He is an aggessive campaigner. Unlike other conservatives, he learns from his mistakes and corrects them. In 2007, he looked vulnerable in his re-election bid. However he was able to repackage himself to a landslide re-election win.

Pawlenty and Crist have both sounded like wimps on the talk shows since the election.

Mitch Daniels was just re-elected to his second term as Gov. of Indiana and stated in no uncertain terms that it was his LAST campaign of ANY kind, for ANY office.

He is not a RINO, is extremely smart, and has something that not many Republicans have....a spine! He has done exactly what he said he was going to do, and despite some carping from the press, makes no apologies for it.

He would be a great choice, if only he could be persuaded to run.

I don’t see Pawlenty as being a closer and ~ from what I hear (haven’s seen the actual videos) ~ I really don’t like the sour tude.

Previously, I’ve heard him on Hugh Hewitt and he sounded very good ~ positive.

I expect the electoral map may look very different in 4 years. He can be a veep for Jindal or Palin if he can carry that state.
