Question: if you have a magicjack set up in your home office, can you make a long distance call from the extension phone in the kitchen without having to move the magicjack and the computer? Or will it only work in that one location?

Get a multiple handset wireless phone for in your house. (Used of course)

Panasonic makes good ones with three or four handsets if you want that many. One base unit that gets plugged into the magicjack and the other handset(s) have their own charger.

It has to be hooked into a USB port on the computer. You’re pretty much stuck with having your phone(s) wherever the computer is, although I reckon you could jerry rig a long cord.
