A short form is good enough for the State Department, it is good enough that nobody with a reputation to uphold be it McCain, Palin, Hillary, Rush, Hannity, etc. brought up the issue and, most importantly, it will be good enough for about 99.9% of America to accept that Obama is eligible to be president (whether we're happy about this or not). The short form is certainly good enough to establish citizenship. It is not enough to establish "natural-born".
The Presidency is the only position that requires "natural born", so it's not correct to claim that a form "good enough" for a driver's license, passport, etc. is sufficient.
