I agree with you on the Patriot Act. And Bush redefined conservatism in a way that is misleading and destructive to conservative principles (”compassionate conservatism”). We now have to reconstruct a more Reaganesque form and this will be Bush’s legacy to the Republicans for the future.
God forgive me - I have that fear too. I trusted bush not to label people enemy combatant and whisk them off to guantanamo - but Obama probably already has a list of people who suddenly won’t be there come Jan 21st.
