You might be right yet I hope not. The wind gusts sent big embers flying horizontally all night long. Ashes have been reported landing in Thousand Oaks this morning. One anchor said that in a recent fire an entire block of homes nowhere close to the path of the fire went up after the residents left their garage doors opened. Embers flew into the open garages and all the homes were lost.
Thank you for the cool link!
You are right on, I have heard many reports over the years of hot embers igniting garages, even peoples cars, as they were packing for an evac, imagine that, all your stuff is in your car, you are about to evac and the car catches fire, with all your most important stuff...sad...those embers can travel up to a mile. You are right, there are ashes on my balcony, and we are probably 8-9miles from the fire line right now. We are off the 118 at Kuehner, the fire is over at Balboa or Reseda...For reference purposes, the Reagan Library is nowhere near this, its another 7miles, west down the 118.
