Fire Forces Evacuations, Burns Homes in Sylmar Area
Sayre Fire is near the 210 Freeway in Northern Los Angeles.
A dangerous, fast-moving brush fire in the Sylmar section of the San Fernando Valley, spread by gusting 50 mph winds has now burned at least five homes and is threatening several more, City Fire Department spokesperson Melissa Kelly said today.
So far there are no reports of injuries to residents or fire personnel, said Kelly.
The blaze ignited about 10:30 p.m. in the dry, brushy hills above 13000 W. Sayre Street near Shablow Ave, and has so far consumed more than 500 acres.

Most Californians are not only provincial in that they’ve never seen a Nevada range fire burn a half-million acres, they’re the people funding the environmentalists who make these fires common policy. They care not a thing for 100’s of thousands of acres of forests, rangelands and pasture that burn every year across the west - thanks to their minions in the Sierra Club, NRDC, Forest Guardians, et al.
As such, I reserve the right to cast any aspersion I wish upon these unctuous pecksniffian environmentalists. They’re getting what they have rightfully earned. They all like to talk about karma in California.
Well, they’re getting their karmic credit card bill.
Nephew needs to get back to Palmdale leaving Eagle Rock at noon. Wow now how to get there! I think Angeles Crest Hwy will be snails crawling....
Any suggestions of websites that give information?

Says that the Corona fire has spread into Yorba Linda and is hitting a lot of homes right now.
Firebugs more likely.
Oakhills Mobile Home Park where media and stuff are because a lot of places have burned (off of 210) has been asked to immediately evacuate because it is now considered a crime scene.
They aren’t saying what, but assuming they’re thinking something related to the fire.
I've been concerned about that. Isn't that what happened last year? The fires started popping up south?
and i love when freepers disregard that other freepers may be in harms way because of a threat, and STILL make snide, nasty remarks about it being irrelevant. Guess what, you don’t get to decide relevance. feel some shame.
