The response was that the parties were responsible to certify their candidates.WTH??? So if I start the "Venezuelan Party" and run Hugo Chavez for US President and I "certify" him as eligible, he can run and win?

I think he has told the lie for years and so nobody questioned him. When you run for pres everything is under the microscope and those who have been fooled or turned a blind eye can't stand to be shown to be fools.
He can put the lie to all of this by just letting 3 experts go look at the document.
Innocent people, respectful of the office and the electorate, don't act like this.
