We'd probably be happier with the rum....for a while.
At Monterey, students at DLI, on Friday nights, we didn't have a lot of dinero, didn't have many places to go.....so a few of us would buy some beer at the package store and head on down to the Coast Guard jetty to watch the sunset. One Friday, we chipped in for a bottle of rum, Yo Ho Ho! Watched the sea lions on the rocks and swigged on the bottle without rocks. Learned sea lion lingo in a single evening.
