Attacks on Gov. Sarah Palin by McCain campaign staff at first appear to be a case of making her a convenient scapegoat, but the attacks have a more devious motive. This post-election barrage is the first volley of the campaign to choose the Republican nominee in 2012. The Washington, D.C. based establishment that rules the GOP wants her career over now. She threatens them.
Firefighting 101 teaches it is easier to stomp out a wildfire when it is small. Dont allow the fire to grow, spread and become an inferno. Sarah Palin was the spark of McCains reform campaign. She ignited the campaign and gave the reform message legitimacy.
Those knifing Palin are the old-guard Republicans who dont want to see her as the nominee in 2012. The old-guard GOP candidates are likely Gov. Haley Barbour or former Gov. Mitt Romney.
Sarah Palin brought a vibrant, fresh face to the Republican Party. The GOP elitists saw how she easily connected with voters. Palin drew huge crowds of up to 70,000 people anxious to see and hear her. The crowds flocking to see Gov. Palin bond with her culturally. She has the potential to garner Obama- or Reagan-like devotion.
The Republican Party needs this grassroots energy and her reform agenda after a decade of broken promises and the disappointing Bush presidency.
Looking back at history, you see resemblances of Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan in Palin. Both Thatcher and Reagan were dismissed and insulted by their own party stalwarts. Useful idiot was a term once leveled at President Reagan.
Palin hails from Wasilla, Alaska; Margaret Thatcher grew up in the apartment over her familys grocery store in a small town in England. Thatchers father taught her never to do things because other people were doing them. He said, Do what you think is right and then persuade others to follow you. Like Thatcher, Palins political philosophy and economic policies emphasize reduced government intervention, free markets and entrepreneurialism.
Margaret Thatcher was willing to take a hard line and earned the nickname Iron Lady for her tough-talking rhetoric defiantly opposing the Soviet Union. Likewise, Palin is tough enough to stand up to present-day threats. While Thatcher earned the moniker of Attila the Hen, Palin calls herself a Pit-bull with Lipstick and others dub her Sarah Barracuda.
Human, likeable, personable and witty like Reagan, with loads of common sense and confidence, Sarah Palin lives what she believes. And the camera loves her as it loved Ronald Reagan.
Grass-roots efforts are sure to encourage Palin to run in for president in 2012. Meanwhile, she trusts a higher power, saying she is, Putting my life in my creators handsthat is what I always do. She also said, Im like, God, if there is an open door for me somewhere, this is what I always pray, dont let me miss the open door And if there is an open door in 12 or four years later, and if it is something that is going to be good for my family, for my state, for my nation, an opportunity for me, then Ill plow through that door.
This rising star is now too bright to be extinguished by attempts at sabotage. She has addressed the criticism, setting the record straight concerning the purchase of clothes for herself and her family by the Republican National Committee, saying, Those are the RNCs clothes, they are not my clothes. I never forced anybody to buy anything. I never asked for anything more than maybe a Diet Dr Pepper every once in a while. And then theres the ridiculous rumors regarding the debate prep about NAFTA and Africa. Palin summed it up well, calling it cruel, its mean-spirited, its immature, and its unprofessional, and said, Those guys are jerks if they came away with it taking thing out of context, then tried to spread something on national news.
Yet Palin realizes criticism is to be expected in politics. Your life is an open book and you open yourself up to criticism and youd better be ready to take that criticism, she said. In other words, dont run for office if you cant handle it.
Those staffers guilty of anonymous attacks are cowards. Their agenda to control the GOP needs to be seen for what it is an attempt to kill the career of Sarah Palin because it threatens them. Americans can see through the falsehoods and love the real Sarah Palin. Nearly 400 letters arrive daily addressed to Gov. Palin and are now piled high in big bags waiting for her.
I agree. Time to show the Palindrones the door. Not those who like her mind you, but those syncophantic individuals who swoon in her direction at the slightest mention. Those who would appoint her queen, the Palindrones.

And it is scaring the bejeebies out of the GOP rank-n-file. She was treated like crap by the GOP Gov leaders. Fools.
Just for the record, and to tamp down the flames a bit. I agree with you wholeheartedlz. But, the professional wrestling lover wing of the GOP also loes Sarah Palin. They shout a lot, so bring your ear plugs.
LOL!LOL!LOL!
HUCKABEE!LOL!LOL!
“PLEASE OH PLEASE CAN WE GET A PURGE !”
If it is your desire to silence those ideas with which you disagree, you must feel your personal ideas and beliefs are quite weak. Your fear of contradictory opinions indicates that you are not so sure yourself about Palin. Maybe have a deep think about why counter-arguments disturb you so much that you wish to silence them.
?????
Gekko and the other RomneyBOT has one mission on FR.
To hurt the GOP and Gov. Palin for Bishop Romney.
When she came out and spoke at the GOP convention, I could see what the liberals and Dems saw, and I could hear their little sighs of horror, those little sucking-in sounds, and hear the fear freezing their hateful little hearts. God, it was gorgeous! It was like sunrise -- "morning in America" again!
Can you name the specific points that give you a problem?
Are you able to articulate those traits which make her specifically inferior to Mrs Thatcher?
I suspect not.

That's the truth. With all due respect to experience and maturity, neither of our older candidates ran a sufficiently energetic or effective campaign.
Well, if you see a white Chevy astro van in the Boise area over Thanksgiving with your stickers, give us a honk.
bullcrap.
It is not arguments or counter arguments. It is the comments about the way she talks. her religion. Someone in this thread called her a redneck.
That should not be acceptable. and those attacking her personally should be kicked to the curb.
Sarah does not favor amnesty for illegals, that was johnboy’s view. Huck will NEVER garner the support that Sarah will. He tries to be slick like his hero 42. BUT he was the illegal alien’s hero while governor, took him a while into the campaign to figure out that wouldn’t fly and he lifted a website’s policy and put it word for word on his site. He seems to be busy now trying to convert centrists on his FNC show, which I won’t watch after he took a sublime, slime hit on Mitt for the millionth time.
Sarah is real and runs on her own instincts, JUST LIKE REAGAN AND MAGGIE. She has done an outstanding job in her political life in Alaska. She didn’t become a victimized whistle blower while on the oil commission, SHE WON THAT BATTLE AND WAS ELECTED GOVERNOR. She will learn what she needs to know.
Governor, let me ask you about immigration. How many undocumented immigrants are there in Alaska?
I don't know, I don't know. That's a good question.
As governor, how do you deal with them? Do you think they all should be deported?
There is no way that in the US we would roundup every illegal immigrant -there are about 12 million of the illegal immigrants- not only economically is that just an impossibility but that's not a humane way anyway to deal with the issue that we face with illegal immigration.
Do you then favor an amnesty for the 12 or 13 million undocumented immigrants?
No, I do not. I do not. Not total amnesty. You know, people have got to follow the rules. They've got to follow the bar, and we have got to make sure that there is equal opportunity and those who are here legally should be first in line for services being provided and those opportunities that this great country provides.
To clarify, so you support a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants?
I do because I understand why people would want to be in America. To seek the safety and prosperity, the opportunities, the health that is here. It is so important that yes, people follow the rules so that people can be treated equally and fairly in this country.
And the last question would be about politics. You only have two more weeks left...
Yes
What is your strategy? How are you planning to win the latino vote?
I will tell you, I wish that there were more hours in the day so that we can get out there and to more of the communities with such the strong Latino vote that is out there and really tell them that we desire to work for them. We are asking them to hire us and let us work for them.
Thank you so much. It would be impossible to ask you to say a few words in Spanish, right?
Oh my good-well, I don't want to embarrass myself, but
but gracias and I do thank you so much for this opportunity. I appreciate it.
Address jointly with Canada the border security challenges
Alaska Governor Sarah Palin will welcome more than 30 Canadian officials to Juneau and Anchorage for meetings January 18-19, 2007. "Alaska's new administration needs to start early and energetically with expanding our strong, cooperative relationship wit Canada," said Governor Palin. "We have many common issues. Our meetings this week will promote continued trade. We'll also have the opportunity to address jointly the border security challenges placed on us by the U.S. and Canadian national governments."
Alaska's exports to Canada are headed for record highs, based on the federal export numbers for the partial year January through November 2006. Alaska's exports to Canada for that period more than doubled to $441 million compared to the same period in 2005, spurred by $320 million in lead and zinc ore exports.
A: I have reached out to all these communities and asked them to identify their needs. Their response has been for more vocational training, senior assistance, ending gang violence, and more state outreach and communication with their communities. One of the key components of my internal campaign is a diversity task force. I turn to them often.
Apparently, this is by design from the highest levels. In fact, a resolution to that effect was passed in the Alaska state legislature in 2003 (before Palin's election): "[Alaska] House Joint Resolution 22--May 2003: Establishes that state agencies and instrumentalities may not use state resources or institutions for the enforcement of federal immigration laws, which are the responsibility of the federal government."
It's not clear whether Gov. Palin has ever weighed in, pro or con, on Alaska's sanctuary policies.
Thanks for the info! Illegal amnesty is at the top of my priority list. I am gonna give her a pass for now on the univision interview, apparently done the two weeks before 11/4 when she was speaking for johnboy. Last week I read somewhere on here about deportations from Alaska along with another state in the same article. I will pay close attention.
