WASHINGTON, Nov. 14, 2008 Its a measure of the enemy in Afghanistan that Taliban terrorists attacked girls walking to school in Afghanistan on Nov. 12 by throwing acid in their faces, a senior Defense Department official said today.
It was obviously a despicable attack, Pentagon spokesman Bryan Whitman said. Its a reflection of the brutality and backwardness of the enemy were dealing with here. I certainly hope this is not any trend of tactic that the Taliban have, because it is a truly despicable act. |

That's where girls like these live. The Taliban are their brothers and cousins. You cannot nuke the Taliban without nuking their sisters. Their illiterate mothers raised both the girls and their tormentors. These girls will be raising monsters just like that unless they get education. The Taliban understand that threat very well. I am afraid the solution is not as easy as "nuke 'em". Well, I suppose that is a solution and it might be fairly easy. The problem is, it is not a solution that is easy to live with afterwards.
War isn’t easy and it never will be. Do you want to rid Afghanistan of the Taliban or not? How would you get rid of them, if indeed you think we need to.
No waterboarding these fine individuals, I’m sure.
I do. I also want to rid America of Communists. So?
And I want to win the lottery. Of course I won’t because I don’t play. You won’t rid America of communists, either.
Why? Nuking it will get rid of them, just like nuking Afghanistan and Pakistan will get rid of the Taliban, right?
I don’t think civilization would miss Pakistan or Afghanistan much. And America wouldn’t miss communists, though I don’t feel very threatened by the communists. At least not yet.
