If Obama and McCain were found to not be “natural born,” as neither were born on US soil, “””

McCain was born the son of a Navy military man, and a USA citizen, his mother, ON a USA MILITARY BASE.
That is considered USA soil for the purposes of birth.
If not- then getting any military personnel to remain past their minimum 4 years would be drastically impacted.

This has already been vetted over a year ago.

For the record, John McCain was NOT born on a US military base, or in the Panama Canal Zone. He was born in the a civilian hospital in the Republic of Panama.

If I have to, I’ll post a copy of his real birth certificate here on FR for the fourth or fifth time.

But that seems like a waste of energy today, frankly.

I only took this much time because I hate seeing false information put out, especially here on Free Republic.

As I understand it ‘natural born citizen’ has never been litigated at the SCOTUS level. Maybe you have other info. I don’t have a problem with McCain being considered a Natural born citizen and don’t with Obama if he shows birth records helping establish his citizenship even he only has one US parent.

Some articles regarding natural born citizen and SCOTUS:

The following is an article on the non binding resolution from the Senate regarding McCain but how much credence it would have at SCOTUS I don’t know.

No it hasn't. Panama was not then, nor has it ever been a US Territory. We allowed to build and maintain the Canal, but never did we have Territory status.

The Senate can not abrogate the Constitution because they all agree on something.

Besides, I think he was born outside the Canal Zone in a Private Panamanian Hospital.
