It appears you may not have spent any time in our inner cities lately. Whole neighborhoods where residents cannot leave their homes after dark, and no one, not cops, not government, not citizens, nobody, lifts a finger to restore order.
I said “most parts.” I decidely didn’t say “all,” exactly because of the inner cities. First, of course, you have the problem of gangs and other assorted criminals that is worse there (or at least much more concentrated), and second, most inner cities either prohibit their residents to have guns, or the people simply cannot afford them.
Come to suburban or rural Texas and those facts don’t apply - or most of the rest of the country.
