Anuzis on Deck

ON THE PHONE, Saul Anuzis doesn't stutter. That's fitting for the former telecom executive and current Michigan state GOP chairman who's running for Republican National Committee Chairman. After all, he's been the first to actually announce his intention to run.
Anuzis is also the first to announce his candidacy using web platforms -- speaking to Republicans via YouTube, changing his status message on the social networking site Facebook, and sending a message via Twitter. The significance of such a move cannot be underestimated: At a time when Republicans are regrouping and looking for a path forward, there is a great deal of consensus that whatever the national party does, it has to make better use of the web. That doesn't mean putting up a nice website. It means creating a vast online social network of activists, who can then use web tools to organize meetings, raise money, or even announce their own candidacies.
When asked how he's used the Internet to get candidates elected, he cites the use of Facebook to organize rallies, that he has blogged almost daily during his time as chairman, and he has an email address list of over 100,000 emails. When pushed, he doesn't offer any names of candidates who benefitted from the effort. On the other hand, most other party chairs don't come near even this kind of engagement with the Internet.

MIGOP is a mess, absolute shambles. Saul may be a great guy, but some of that blame rests on his shoulders. I can't believe he's in contention.

Saul is far too civil for the job. I don't think we need someone who can go head to head with the MIDEM chair on a regular basis without once saying "Mark, you lie like the steaming little pile you are!"
I wonder if Nugent would do it?

I've been waiting for Saul to verbally b!tch slap Mark forever, and it will never happen...and if he can't take on Mark, he should not be considered for the national chair.
I still can't figure out why he's being considered. It makes zero sense.

What is his record on running and leading to a win? A strong Michigan GOP is none existent. Just like a football coach being hired for a high ranked team, you don’t start looking on teams with loosing records.

Right after their first radio show together, I talked to Chairman Anuzis. He asked me if he sounded annoying. I didn't really understand why he was asking but told him no. I figured out later why he was asking. Anuzis couldn't hear himself but could hear Brewer's voice. Saul was afraid he sounded like that.
What we need as national chair is someone who doesn't care what people think as long as the truth is spoken loud and clear and lies are brutally pointed out and disposed of. That's why I jokingly suggested Nugent.

Nuge isn’t such a joke of a choice. I’d love to see him head up MIGOP. National, not so much.

With Michigan Republicans voting for smoking bans on private property, they clearly have no grasp of individual rights, and fall into the leftist socialist mentality that all property and people belong to the state, so the state can regulate at will. Smoking on private property is at the sole judgment of the owner. Republicans in Michigan are hard to tell from the commies on the left. Some one out there has to have good conservative values. The smoking thing is a good test, because it pits going with the flow, showing compassion, being for the children, being a good nanny, verses standing for the rights of individuals.

If it weren't for the mistrust of her that I believe exists among the "powers that be" in the party, I would say Palin. It has to be someone who can really light a fire under the arses of the rank and file, make all the grassrooters start standing up to the rinos. The party needs to be shaken from the ground up.
Honestly, I just don't know...who not is a much easier question.

The problem is that anyone smart enough to do the job is also smart enough to realize that the MSM is going to magnify and scrutinize every mistake or action that could possibly be spun as distasteful of not only the applicant but also every member of his family. While he might accept that for himself, who would want to do that to his family?

LOL! I hope someone puts it on YouTube if it ever happens.
I still remember the first time I heard Mark Brewer on the radio. He sounds so whiney and annoying.
