The average German probably was taken in by his charisma; they wanted CHANGE. They wanted a leader who inspired them and made them feel empowered.
There are many parallels with our election of a week ago. The O supporters were not looking at reasons or facts. They wanted to part of a movement for change. Their eyes were glazed over in a scary way.
Actually the partial contempt that some of us felt for McCain, is the proper feelings to have for a politician. We should vote for every politician with one hand, and hold our nose with the other hand. Politicians are people we hire to do a job, not saviors of our world.
And that includes Sarah Palin who I strongly support.
The only person we should look to with adoration, and as one who will deliver us from our problems; is Jesus Christ.
All others are only human, and will let us down (or try to enslave us) every time.
We don’t disagree. My only point was that nobody ever called Hitler “slick” or “smooth.” There were a great many adjectives applied to the guy by opponents and followers, but I doubt those two were among them.
Bill Clinton and Tony Blair were smooth talkers, as is Obama. Winston Churchill and Hitler were not. They were powerful and dynamic speakers, but not smooth.
