No, as I understand old/new testament prophecy, the anti christ might/must be Jewish. If the nation of Israel is to accept him as the promised messiah he must be a Jew. The false prophet, AntiC’s chief aide, as you call him, is a religious leader but prophecy doesn't make it clear which religion. So say it's the Roman Pope.
If you'll allow me, here's the scenario I see happening very soon, some is scripture but some is my own guesstimation:
1) Israel will have to destroy the Iranian nuclear works, soon.
2)Iran/Arabs will be humiliated.
3)Iran will provoke Syria to do something to retaliate (take a look at Syria's Asad, he's a clueless doofuss)and Syria will take the bait. I believe Israel will be hit hard and maybe thousands die.
4)Israel will not allow thousands of their citizens to die without retaliation and will nuke Damascus. See Isaiah 17:1 — The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap
Damascus is famous for being the world's oldest city. Therefore, it is obvious we have an unfulfilled prophecy here. Another thing is immediately obvious as well: this prophecy is telling us that Damascus will be nuked, as nukes are the only way in modern times that a city would become a ruinous heap and cease from being a city
5)The world will be in shock and there will be a cry for peace, at any price.
6)A man comes on the scene who puts together a peace plan, seemingly a brilliant plan. This is the beginning of the seven year tribulation.
6)Israel must disarm and most likely the Muslims also agree to disarm but they won't. Unfortunately Israel, stinging from worldwide condemnation, will seek peace at any price.
7)This seemingly brilliant man who makes old enemies agree to peace, guarantees Israel's safety in the seven year peace plan. Possibly a side agreement is, to allow Israel to rebuild their temple and resume temple worship.
8)Within a short time (months)Israel is attacked. see Ezekiel, Chapter 38. The war of gog/magog, where some of the enemies of Israel are listed (Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them. Who is Persia? Today it's called Iran....wow!
8)Israel sees a massive force of muzlims, maybe lead by Russia, advancing on them. Israel knows it's about to be destroyed because the world does nothing to help. However, GOD has brought Israel back from the graveyard of nations and will never allow Israel to be destroyed. These attacking armies are supernaturally destroyed as Israel turns to the GOD of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob for their salvation from this huge force.
Seeing some of the players on the world stage right now, I think 1-4 will happen soon. The rest is just a guess but I'm no prophet.

Germany’s financial crisis was much larger than our current problems. It resembled modern Zimbabwe, in my opinion. A wheelbarrow full of deutschmarks to buy a loaf of bread, that kind of crisis.
