People are quick to criticize President Bush for not divulging ALL about that, but it is for very serious security reasons that he does not.
There are still an awful lot of Americans in the region right now, as well as countless innocent citizens...
I, for one, am very glad our leadership has had the sense and decency to make our security a priority over their own popularity.
I don't see the next guy being that smart OR that considerate.

Allegra, I've read your posts from Iraq for years now. I respect your service to our country and your willingness to sacrifice to get the job done. We agree on most things, but I have to differ on this one.
I simply cannot see how GWB's inability or outright unwillingness to vigorously defend himself against the left vis-a-vis his decision to go into Iraq has been anything but a drag on the war effort. He allowed his administration to be politically crippled for the entirity of his second term. The wildfire of opposition in the media that his weakness fanned allowed AQ ready access to it's only real weapon - propaganda. IMHO, this allowed the war to drag out much longer than it would have otherwise.
How in the world is a weakened US President good for the country in wartime? I've seen no proof that this tactic of turning the other cheek has been a net benefit for us or a useful tool against our enemies. Frankly, I think the US military has brought Iraq to heel despite the administration.
Stay safe over there, A.
