The NRA endorsed a moonbat (WI 8th CD) instead of the solid conservative challenger. He'll change his vote in a heartbeat if Pelosi tells him to. The NRA gave the lefty an “A” rating. The GOA a “D”. Go figure. BTW, the conservative got an “A” from the NRA and GOA. Go figure. I understand the need to support groups like the NRA, but I chose to let my NRA membership expire. The GOA got my money instead.

The NRA is trying to stop antigunners in the dem party by electing more progun dems. They’re trying to take antigun legislation off the bargaining table.
And what did you get for your money? Did you get a lawsuit in your behalf against antigunners? Any CCW laws? Can you put a gun in your car without getting fired? Is your gunrange protected by goa insurance? Did your gunrange close down because of stupid noise or hazardous waste laws?
Did they at least give you a tshirt?

Politics is all about coalitions. We need a large coalition that represents gun owners - that coalition is the NRA. In the back rooms of Congress, the guy with the big stick (NRA) will be able to have a shot to convince Republicans and Democrats to vote the way we want them to. If the NRA had something to do with getting a moonbat into Congress, who do you think will have a better to influence their vote (the NRA of the GOA)? All of these guys want to be reelected. If the NRA ranks swell and Chris Cox does a good job of illistrating that to the folks who want to keep their gig in the House and Senate - we might have a chance. Backing lesser known gun rights groups (at this time) is just like voting for a Libertarian for President - you might agree with what they have to say, but it won't advance the overall cause.
