Find the culprit and sue his a$$ for slander in civil/supreme court. Actually, it isn't clear that even Sullivan affords immunity to MSNBC. The standard for libel of a "public person" is whether the defendant knowingly spread falsehoods or acted with reckless disregard. Failing to identify a hoax that could have been uncovered by a simple google search seems to meet the standard of reckless disregard.
