IMHO the American Bishops’ treatise on “Faithful Citizenship” caused more problems than it solved. The 8 weeks of lengthy letters seemed to equate abortion with global warming and littering.
Most of us need straight talk. (I’m not confused, but apparently a lot of other Catholics are, including our new VP.)
So true! It was way too long - there should have been a summary for it. I can read long docs, but it nearly put me to sleep. It was more of 'how to write a 50 page document and say nothing' rather than a help to form one's conscience. Our post V2 writings are too darn wordy.
