If you hadn’t posted the info about your NoDak friend’s greenhouse, I probably would have kept my info between myself/other gardeners. So, you didn’t interrupt at all and provided incentive for me to share.

If our money is going to be worth less, we may as well invest it in things that help us maintain health, sanity and some of our former life style.

My husband is planning to repair his old blacksmith forge and investing in coal/coke. We think there will be a need for repair facilities for farm/garden implements, axles, other tool fabrication, repair/recycling, etc. He renewed his oxy acetylene tanks this year, too, after not using them for a few years.

I am glad FReepers are discussing this. I think it spurs everyone to re-evaluate their plans and could be the impetus for a parallel economy, if one is needed. If it isn’t needed, well, we still have viable hobbies and can be more self-sufficient.

You’ll never learn to support socialism with an attitude like that!

No sarcasm intended on this. I think I'm going to start asking on threads like this certain basic questions. Such as: have you selected your livestock yet? Chickens, goats, hogs, etc. Do you have basic woodworking tools? Not an electric saw but a medium or coarse handsaw, hammer, ax (not a little camp hatchet but a real ax) can you sharpen same? List could go on forever.
