“The next best thing is to write letters. Not rants but constructive guidance. Be consistent, be persistent. You would be surprised how many of these people haven’t a clue and actually welcome calm, rational voices telling them what needs to be done. Find out who the officials are and write them every week or at least monthly. Follow with an occasional call. Let them know who you are.”

Very good idea....I plan to write one to highlight the things that went wrong in Broward Co. Believe me, it will be a long letter. Those of us who volunteered need to do this otherwise the RNC will only hear the accounts of state and county chairs and they cannot be trusted to tell the truth when it makes them look bad. Mind you, I have no intention of dragging any one person down. What I want to see changed are obsolete practices that no longer work.

For those of you more internet savvy than I am could probably tell the party a thing or two about its best use in future campaigns.

I agree with one exception: Keep your letters short. When I started I went out and got nice letterhead paper exclusively for this purpose but that is not necessary at all. I wanted them to be noticed. I made a campaign of it. One letter a week to half a dozen officials and officeholders. Usually the same letter to each but sometimes with small variations.

I let the fact that I was a nobody work for me. They didn't know who I was. I recall that I once walked into a Congressman's office and told them where I was from and they said "Yeah, all those people up there want _______. Actually it was only me but I was the only one writing letters.

All of my letters were respectful and at most four or five paragraphs long. That was the limit of their attention span and it was enough to get my main points across. If I had more, I saved it for the next letter.

In just a few months they were returning my phone calls and, more importantly, they were taking me seriously!

At that point, it became fairly well known that I had "contacts". People came to me to write letters for them and I did. Then I really had the attention of the Party.

Good luck and God Bless!

The Republican party consistently puts forth a candidate for President, V.P., etc., ... of someone that came up through the ranks and “paid his dues to get his turn”.
In other words ...

OLD,WHITE HAIRED WHITE MEN” PAST THEIR PRIME AND JADED BY WASHINGTON POLITICS. Pale and anemic in appearance and attitude.

FRESH TALENT IS NOT WELCOMED; UNLESS IT FITS THE IMAGE OF WHAT THE LEADERS BELIEVE TO BE “THEIR IMAGE.

While the democrats take all comers, (After all they are voters.)

Year after year we make the same mistakes ... all the while expecting different outcomes. DUMB. DUMB.

We must return to the “Constitution” and be smart about it.

We really defeat ourselves. Shame on us for not uniting and standing firm for freedom and liberty. Less taxation, a reduction in welfare, work programs for the able bodied that are on welfare, reduction and elimination of earmarks, limit the access of Lobbyists, refuse to allow conflict of interest, by having close relatives and friends not able to fill important congressional jobs,
