Yes, but he was a volunteer with the Israeli Defense Force during the first Gulf War, in a non-combat role. And he is said to be Orthodox. Thus, his model would seem to be such things as the Kibbutzim, which, while they make sense for Israel, may not make sense here. Nor would the racial qualifications of Israel’s government as they reflect the Orthodox influence be compatible with the Constitution’s mandate of separation of church and state. They would, however, seem to be compatible with Ci cago ethnic machine politics. Of course, if you mentioned this in his presence he would, it seems, call you obscene names and scream in anger.

Rahm does not wear a yarmulke. He is no more Orthodox than I am.
