Meddling liberals strike again. I have no problem with the schools offering healthier food in the cafeteria, but banning all junk and bake sales is ridiculous. Expect more of this when the government takes control of healthcare. They want to minimize expenses.

We are fat because we are wealthy.

Obama is going to “fix” that.

Alaska did this two years ago - no soda in the soda machines. The schools then demanded more money - seems the soda sales were bringing in megabucks that somehow never seemed to show up on any budget sheets..... odd that.

Civility forbids me from expressing my true feelings abut the Socialists running the schools today.....

Everytime I think that it really sucks to live here in NY, an article like this pops up. I’d take NY over California every time.

When are they going to crack down on something that matters? Like out of control government or massive budget busting spending?

Sadly, there is speculation New York may be next:

Cop out. Those bake sales combined with the elementary school carnival were so much fun. I can still remember them.

Time to ban children’s lemonade stands, too!

I’m sure there’s too much sugar in some of that lemonade, and besides, giving those kids any ideas about business, etc. is just too dangerous.

I have a problem with liberals/Democrats banning foods . That is against freedom. And I have a problem with the mere existance of government schools.

By what right Do Democrats steal the money of the creators of wealth and technology like Intel, Dell, Exxon,Wal-Mart, and of working regular Americans, to use that money to brainwash kids in government schools into becoming semi-illiterate Marxist criminals?

The dept of Education is unconstitutional , along wth the thousands of other capital robbing and freedom taking government agencies. These government agencies are a cancer and they must be abolished.

Look at the thousands of government agencies here that do nothing:

I read this and thought, "What a shot of sanity." Then, I saw who posted. Still, sanity and common sense are in such short supply it boggles the mind at times. Thanks.
