I know it isn't fair to brand the Republicans as the party of rich, elite white guys, but, that is what has happened.
Would it not be easier just to start a new party and cut off the cancerous tissue?
Until the Constitution Party has equal ballot access in all 50 states, they are going nowhere. Ballot acces laws in three fourths of the states prevent their success.
Building a political party is very time consuming, it's like building a house, you have to start with the foundation, (a strong organizaton in every county in the country.) Then build the structure, which includes things like fund raising, party members elected to local, state offices, and Congress. Up to this point the Constitution Party has followed in the path of the Libertarian party, build the roof before the foundation.
A Constitution Party President could not accomplish anything without at least a few Constitution Party members in the House, and Senate.
Fund raising is a big issue, when conservatives take control of the Republican Party, at county or state level the big donors close their wallets. A new conservative party will have even more problems raising money.
The Republican Party has the structure in place, and it is ripe for the picking. If enough people get involved, and put forth the effort it could be taken over in a few years, as opposed to taking decades to build a new structure. It isn't easy, but it can be done.
