I love Mark Sanford and I love my second home (soon to be only home) in the perfect state of South Carolina.

I’m happy to see him throw his hat in the 2012 race. DeMint too, if he wants. The more conservatives, the merrier.

I still lean towards Sarah, but I really like all of the guys in the running so far. Much better than 2008.

I had the pleasure of visiting your state of South Carolina last spring. I had a wonderful time, the weather was beautiful (and almost too hot for this Alaskan), and I was absolutely thrilled with my carriage tour of Charleston. I’ve always been facinated by the south and its history. We were fortunate to been guided through our tour by a man who had grown up there. Oh, the stories he told!

S. Carolina is a beautiful state. However, I have wanted to write a letter to your local newspapers about the litter problem. It was everywhere! Not just highways, but every country road I drove down (and I am not exaggerating) was littered so badly it was absolutely sickening.

Do you know why SC has such a problem? It really is a blight on an otherwise lovely state.

Rush got a call late in the show yesterday from a guy living in a western state lamenting his states increasing liberalism due to, according to him, an influx of liberal Californians.

Rush commented back that North Carolina went from red to blue this year in part because of the torrents of liberal yankees moving to the Tar Heel state.

I hope that you're not one of those that plan to move here and then try to change things to like it was 'up north'.

Example: we're going through a zoning debate in Oconee County. My neighbor, an Oconee County native, went to a hearing last Friday night. Only 4 people showed up that were for zoning, all relocated yankees. He said they were hostile, arrogant and argumentative and it looks like we're going to get some damn zoning! It's the camel nose in the tent.

My point being, conservatism is local as well as national. You come down here, move in next to me and then try to change the rules because you don't like the smell of my horses and cows, listening to my dogs barking at night or hearing the sounds of high powered rifle rounds being discharged from my private rifle range.

Please keep that in mind when you permanently invade The Palmetto State.....................
