How ironic because if it weren't for a certain Austrian there probably wouldn't have been the urgent need for an Israel after the second World War..
Actually the charge for the creation of a Jewish state came in the immediate post WWI period. Of course the impetus was the belief of the early Zionists that Europe wasn't safe for Jews. They turned out to be correct.
